Chapter 1
The civil rights movement was causing a National conversation about equality and how women of Newsweek deserved to be recognized for who they are in the workplace as writers.
Chapter 2
Many women were expected to have secretary or nursing jobs although attending a prestigious university: they were expected to have a job to make some money then eventually get married, have children, and stay home while the men worked.
Chapter 3
There was institutional sexism everywhere in the 1960’s because of the women and men interaction which was usually flirtatious and people would have affairs within Newsweek along with sexual harassment.
Chapter 4
Wanting to live up to your dream is hard when people with much more power deem to make women less than what they are; women at Newsweek barely processed in the workplace because their writing would be handed off to men to complete the job.
Chapter 5
The women always held secret meetings in which they were afraid of trusting just any women because they could be caught; the women were upset that they barely got the jobs that men could easily get and would not get credit for the things they did at work.
